MSPs Become Necessity as IoT Devices Increase

Experts predict that in 2021 the number of IoT devices will reach over 35 billion. IoT devices are used in all industries and it’s important that these devices are secure to prevent cyberattacks. This increase in devices is leading small IT teams with even smaller budgets to turn to MSPs to help them with security efforts. MSPs are starting to warm up to offering security services for IoT devices and they realize that if they want new business they need to accommodate IoT devices.
IT professionals outline a few key steps MSPs should take when setting up IoT security. First, it’s important that MSPs have a plan in the event that there is a breach involving the devices. Conducting a device audit is also a key step in a security plan so that all IoT devices are accounted for and secured. Up to date device credentials and segmented networks are also crucial to securing a company’s IoT devices.
